If you searched “superside reddit”, you want to hear from people who bought it, not from a vendor listicle. So we read 13 Reddit threads from 2021 to 2026 where buyers, designers and competitors talk about Superside. Here's what they say, in their words, with a link to every comment.

One disclosure first. Cluma is a design subscription service too, so we have a stake. We quote the good comments as well as the bad ones, and we flag every comment that looks like promotion, including posts by people who run competing services.

How we read the threads

  • 13 threads across r/graphic_design, r/AskMarketing, r/DigitalMarketing, r/branding, r/agency, r/growmybusiness and the brand-named r/superside. The full list is in the references.
  • Short excerpts only, copied exactly, typos included. Usernames are left out on purpose.
  • Prices and terms quoted by users are their own reports from a given year. Superside's current terms are at the end of the price section, with the date we checked them.
  • We left out claims we can't verify: a lawsuit described by one account, a large refund dispute, and posts about designer pay.

Theme 1: the annual commitment comes up first

Before anyone talks about the work, they talk about the contract. This is the most repeated point across the threads.

“Superside requires a one-year minimum purchase... ooff. That's a big leap of faith.”

r/graphic_design, 20 Sep 2024. Comment [1]

“I would never sign with anybody for the year before I've had any experience with them at all.”

r/AskMarketing, 21 Jan 2025. The commenter says they haven't used Superside. Comment [2]

A buyer who chose a different service still gave Superside a fair hearing:

“Superside is good if you are cool with annual price plans and costs that are similar to any other big agencies.”

r/graphic_design, 18 Feb 2026. Comment [3]

Smaller teams feel the fit question most. The person who started one thread came back months later with a short verdict: “I didn’t like what Superside had to offer. I’m too small for them” (r/AskMarketing, 16 Apr 2025). In 2024, another user reported that a startup plan existed but “still requires three-months up front” (r/graphic_design, 11 Nov 2024).

Theme 2: hours, quotes and what you're billed for

Superside works against a monthly allowance of hours, and users who've worked with it describe that clearly.

“You can request design work at any time but you have a maximum number of hours per month you need to stay under or else you get charged extra.”

r/graphic_design, 1 Sep 2023. Comment [1]

The hour estimates are where several teams got stuck:

“We ended up canceling the contract because it was expensive and they were quoting crazy high hours for simple banner ads.”

r/graphic_design, 1 Sep 2023. Comment [1]

Asked for detail, the same user said it was “something like 15-20 hours for what would take a member of our team 3-4 hours to turn around” (2 Sep 2023). A second user replied “I had the exact same experience.” (10 Jul 2024).

There's a counterpoint in the same thread, and it's worth reading before you judge the numbers:

“The hours encapsulate everything though, not just design hours you get an entire team working with you”

r/graphic_design, 12 Feb 2024. Comment [1]

Another former client was more forgiving on pace: “it seemed to take them a bit longer but they weren’t as familiar with the brand standards, which I get.” (2 Sep 2023).

Theme 3: quality depends on who picks up the work

Views on the work itself are split, and the positive ones are real.

“They're very nice, professional and super responsive.”

r/graphic_design, 1 Sep 2023. Comment [1]

The same user adds that the designs are “sometimes "meh" but as long as you provide solid feedback they're pretty good at cleaning things up”, and closes with “I don't think the price is worth it.” Another user who'd tried it briefly called it “pretty solid” (r/AskMarketing, 5 Feb 2026).

The negative accounts are blunt:

“They pitched us on amazing creative, but what we actually got was worse than Fiverr level quality.”

r/AskMarketing, 6 Feb 2025. Comment [2]

“they just charge a lot and the quality isn’t great compared to similar options.”

r/superside, 22 Sep 2025. Comment [4]

The fairest summary comes from someone with a stake, which we flag below. The founder of a competing subscription wrote: “Superside is good at what it's built for: high volume, fast simple stuff, social assets at scale.” Then the catch: “You're matched to a designer pool, so the person on your work changes between requests” (r/AskMarketing, 30 Jun 2026) [5]. An anonymous long post in r/superside makes the same point: “While some assigned designers are exceptionally talented, that level of quality is rarely consistent across an entire account.” (31 Jul 2026) [6]. Treat both as opinions, not measurements.

Theme 4: price, sales calls and what you're buying

Several threads describe the buying process rather than the work. One user's intro call did not land well:

“We said a few things and he immediately starts upselling us”

r/graphic_design, 23 Sep 2024. Comment [1]

Newer threads ask what Superside actually is. In a 2026 thread that compared it with an AI brand tool, one reply pointed out that “Superside is a service NOT a product” (r/DigitalMarketing, 16 Jun 2026) [7]. A reader of a 2024 tips thread asked: “Wait, we need to provide prompt? Is it just AI?” (r/superside, 30 Aug 2026) [8]. In that thread, “prompts” means written design briefs. The question still shows how AI-first marketing can read to a buyer.

For context: on 24 October 2026, Superside's pricing started at a $15,000 monthly minimum on an annual term, plus a $1,000 monthly software fee, with dedicated teams from $30,000 a month on 12 months. Superside pricing sits next to Cluma's on our compare page, with the date of every figure.

A word on promotion in the threads

Superside threads attract a lot of selling. Read the recommendations with that in mind.

  • Competitor founders. The founder of Teamtown posted in two threads and disclosed it each time. Two more Teamtown recommendations landed in one older thread on the same day (16 Jan 2026). Founders of Andelo and Branding5 also pitched their own services.
  • Repeat names. Hatchly was recommended in two threads within a week, with no first-hand detail. Creative Shizzle was recommended by an account in r/AskMarketing, and the same company posts its own for-hire ads elsewhere on Reddit.
  • Flagged elsewhere. DolFinContent gets one recommendation here. In a Design Pickle thread we read, the thread starter flagged DolFinContent comments as coming from brand-new accounts.
  • The brand-named subreddit. r/superside is mostly generic design questions posted almost daily. We quote three threads from it and label them.

Weigh repeat praise from one account, or one company, as one voice.

Alternatives Redditors mention

Counted across the 13 threads we read. “Comments” means comments naming the service as something people used, tried or recommend. Posts by a service's own founder or staff are noted.

AlternativeCommentsThreadsNotes

Where Cluma fits, honestly

Cluma isn't the answer for every buyer in these threads. If you're an enterprise team that wants one large creative partner across many markets and formats, Superside is built for that scale.

Cluma is built for SaaS teams that keep hitting the issues Redditors describe:

  • Monthly, not annual. 7-day trial. First month paid in full, then pause or cancel anytime, no cancellation fee.
  • Flat rates, not hour quotes. $2,995 to $4,995 per module a month, published on pricing. You don't approve an hour estimate per request.
  • One seat per discipline. Nine modules, from brand and websites to product UI, ads and decks. Each works like a senior-led designer seat for one discipline, and you can add or remove modules month to month.
  • Creative direction is included. A senior designer owns direction and signs off on every deliverable.
  • Same honest limit. One request in progress per module, unlimited requests in the queue. Need two things moving at once? Add a second module.
  • Pace by task size. Everyday tasks land in about 48 hours. Bigger projects move milestone by milestone, with progress about every 48 hours.
  • Design only. You get dev-ready files. Your team builds.

FAQ

What do Redditors say about Superside?

Opinions are split. The most common points are the annual commitment, hour estimates that feel high for simple work, and quality that depends on who picks up a request. Positive comments describe a responsive, professional team that cleans work up well after clear feedback.

Is Superside worth it for a startup?

Most startup voices in these threads say it's too big a commitment for them. Superside's terms start with an annual contract, so it fits teams with steady, high design volume and a budget to match.

What is the most recommended Superside alternative on Reddit?

Flocksy is named most often in the threads we read, followed by Teamtown. Two of the Teamtown mentions come from its founder, and several Flocksy comments read alike, so treat both counts with care.

How is Cluma different from Superside?

Cluma is a modular design subscription for SaaS teams with published monthly rates, from $2,995 to $4,995 per module, and no annual term. As of 24 October 2026, Superside started at a $15,000 monthly minimum on an annual term plus a $1,000 monthly software fee.
